Nancy Golden was a natural choice when Home & Garden Television went looking for a host/expert for programs such as Room for Change and Decorating Cents. The transition to DIY's design series was a natural next step in the evolutionary process.At the age of 8 Nancy Golden was insistent about the correct shade of lavender for her bedroom walls. In the second grade she rejected a plastic purse given to her as a gift claiming that she could tell by the smell that it wasn't real leather. Much later an acquaintance who didn't want to pay the high cost of a professional decorator hired Golden to help beautify and furnish a cabin. That's all it took: a career born and a passion uncovered. Golden went back to school to study design and turned her interest into a profession.
