A selection committee of 34 worldwide media executives, including Marjorie Scardino (Pearson), Arthur Sulzberger (The New York Times), Tom Glocer (Reuters), and Hisashi Hieda (Reuters), picked the Young Global Leaders from over 4,000 candidates (Fuji Television Network). Jordan's Queen Rania presided over the committee.
