The founder and Executive Director of the Tutu Institute for Prayer and Pilgrimage are Reverend Mpho A. Tutu, an Episcopal priest. Reverend Tutu has led ministries for children in Worcester, Massachusetts, rape survivors in Grahamstown, South Africa, and South African and Namibian refugees at the Phelps Stokes Fund in New York City. She received her MDiv from Cambridge's Episcopal Divinity School and began her appointed ministry at Historic Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia. Reverend Tutu is the Chair Emeritus of the Global AIDS Alliance Board of Directors, the Chairperson of the 911 Unity Walk Board of Advisors, and a Trustee of Angola University.
