Monty Halls Biography

Monty Halls began his career as a Royal Marines Officer before transitioning into broadcasting and exploration and leadership expertise. Throughout his thirty years of service he has commanded teams through some of Earth's most demanding environments starting from South American jungles to reaching ocean depths.

After his Royal Marines service Halls enrolled at the University of Plymouth to study marine biology where he earned First Class Honours in 1999. His leadership experience includes guiding multiple expeditions which resulted in the discovery of a sunken city off Indian shores and anti-poaching efforts in Malawi.

Through his BBC shows Halls gained popularity by living with his dog Reuben on the west coasts of Scotland and Ireland in Great Escapes. His television work includes presenting Great Barrier Reef, The Fisherman’s Apprentice, and WWII’s Great Escapes: The Freedom Trails. The conservation mission My Family and the Galapagos featured Halls and his family in 2018 before its four-part series broadcast in 2020.

Halls dedicates his time to conservation while holding positions as President of the Galapagos Conservation Trust and patron of Help for Heroes.
