Montez Robinson, a former Bethune-Cookman assistant, has been hired as men's basketball coach at Alcorn State, according to ASU athletic director Derek Horne. During Robinson's four years at Bethune-Cookman, the Wildcats made it to the quarterfinals of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament twice, including a trip to the title game in 2012.
For the past two years, Robinson has directed the Bethune-Cookman Men's Basketball Fundamental Camp, Elite Camp, and Team Camp. He was also the primary coach for dealing with post players, notably Anthony Breeze, who was named to the MEAC Tournament All-Star team.
