Monica Barbaro Biography

Monica Barbaro is an American actress and former ballet dancer. Raised in Mill Valley, she graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in dance in 2010. Initially trained in ballet, salsa, flamenco, and modern dance, she shifted to acting, studying at Beverly Hills Playhouse. Barbaro gained recognition for roles in TV series like “UnREAL" (2016), “Chicago P.D.” (2016–2017), “Chicago Justice” (2017), “The Good Cop” (2018), and “Splitting Up Together” (2018–2019). Her film breakthrough came as Lt. Natasha "Phoenix" Trace in “Top Gun: Maverick” (2022). She starred in Netflix’s ‘FUBAR” (2023–present) and earned Oscar and SAG Award nominations for playing Joan Baez in “A Complete Unknown” (2024).
