Molly Tuttle won the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Award for Guitar Player of the Year. She was the first woman to ever win that award. She is renowned for her prodigious flatpicking clawhammer and cross-picking guitar abilities.Tuttle attended Berklee College of Music in Boston on scholarships for music and composition.
She also received the Foundation for Bluegrass Music's first Hazel Dickens Memorial Scholarship. In 2012 she won the Chris Austin Songwriting Competition at MerleFest. In 2015 she moved from Boston to Nashville Tennessee.
