Mitchell Reiss is the President and CEO of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia, where he served as a senior American diplomat. Prior to this, he was the 27th president of Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, where he served for four years. Under Colin Powell, he was the Director of Policy Planning at the US Department of State.
Until 2007, he also served as the United States Special Envoy for Northern Ireland, with the diplomatic status of Ambassador. Williams College, The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Columbia University Law School and Oxford University all awarded him degrees.
