She is also the Founder and President of Mikki Taylor Enterprises, LLC, a holding company for many vertical companies, including Satin Doll Productions, full-service image development and consulting division, and MT Communications, a strategic communications and branding firm.

Taylor has given beauty and fashion advice across several platforms, including radio, web, and print, culminating in her bestselling book, Self-Seduction: Your Ultimate Path to Inner and Outer Beauty (Ballantine Books/One World).

Because the success of the first book left people wanting more, the sequel, Commander in Chic: Every Woman's Guide to Managing Her Style Like a First Lady (Atria Books/Simon & Schuster), was published in November 2011.

Taylor has signed on as the brand's new national ambassador for AMBI Skincare, a part of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company, in an attempt to empower, inspire, and celebrate women of color. Taylor's 30-year career as a recognized beauty expert perfectly compliments AMBI Skincare's 45-year legacy as the trusted brand for even-toned, beautiful skin.

One of Taylor's most cherished memories was a trip to South Africa at Oprah Winfrey's request, where she taught 149 girls aged 12–14 at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls as part of its Arts Workshop 2007.

Taylor presented Celebrating Your Unique Beauty & Style, a three-part program that covered practical and timeless components of social graces and the key principles of inner and outward beauty, as well as Your Best Shot, a session that emphasized the skills needed to take a fantastic image.

Taylor was honored by the Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) at its 37th annual scholarship and awards event in 2007, which recognized people who had made major contributions to the realm of beauty both in front of and behind the scenes.

She is also the winner of the Associated Black Charities Image Makers Award and a four-time recipient of the CEBA Award, a former industry award honoring excellence in African American media.

Taylor's other notable achievement was organizing an annual beauty event in which proceeds from product sales benefited homeless and underprivileged women through the Cosmetic Executive Women's (CEW) Women in Need, a nonprofit organization that provides services to shelters in and around New York City.

Taylor is also a member of Fashion Group International, Inc.'s President's Council, where she formerly served on the board of directors.
