Mike McLaughlin is a former Xfinity Series driver for NASCAR. McLaughlin, often known as Magic Shoes, was a fan favorite who won the Most Popular Driver title in 1997. In the Xfinity Series, he also had multiple wins and top-five finishes in the points standings.
McLaughlin made his Xfinity Series debut at the Mello Yello 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1984, finishing 14th in the #73 Pontiac. That season, he competed in one more race, the Charlotte event in October. Unfortunately, mechanical issues cut short his day. The next season, he raced twice more, finishing eleventh each time.
