Mike Lonergan, the head coach of the George Washington University Colonials men's basketball team, was born on January 28, 1966. Karl Hobbs succeeded him. He formerly served as the point guard for the Catholic University of America (CUA) and as the coach of the University of Vermont Catamounts.
In 2011-12 and 2012-13, Lonergan's Colonials labored to consecutive losing records, marking the first time in his Division I coaching tenure that a Lonergan-coached team failed to make the postseason in consecutive seasons.
