Mike Klein, the creator, and director of Young Master Chess is a FIDE Master and Life National Master based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mike has been teaching chess for 15 years. He presently teaches chess lessons and clubs in Charlotte public schools, as well as summer camps in Charlotte and Chapel Hill.
He was a full-time chess tutor for New York City's Chess-in-the-Schools program from 2001 to 2004. Mike is a frequent writer to Chess Life Magazine and Chess Life Online, where he investigates and writes on a variety of topics related to competitive chess. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with a journalism degree.
