Mike Bonifer Biography

Mike Bonifer is the co-founder of GameChangers, LLC, with Dr. Virginia Kuhn, and the author of GameChangers – Improvisation for Business in the Networked World. GameChangers, LLC, helps people communicate clearly, collaborate productively, and innovate in tune and tempo with the marketplace. Bonifer's professional career began with a series of pivots: he went from selling Duncan Hines cake mixes and Jif peanut butter (nicknamed Mr. Jif) for Procter & Gamble to writing a best-selling book about Notre Dame football to working as the senior publicist on the motion picture TRON for Walt Disney Pictures over a three-year period. Bonifer was a founding producer for The Disney Channel, where he directed and produced The Disney Family Album, a documentary series on famous Disney artists and entertainers. He produced hundreds of media projects for major entertainment companies, spanning platforms, genres, and distribution channels. He co-wrote and directed The Lipstick Camera, a feature picture starring Terry O'Quinn, Sandahl Bergman, and the one and only Corey Feldman, in 1993. He's also the author of Out of Bounds—an Anecdotal History of Notre Dame Football (co-authored with L.G. Weaver), The Art of TRON, and The Making of Dick Tracy, in addition to GameChangers. Bonifer began his study of the internet as a platform for corporate communication in 1994 when he developed the website for Disney and Pixar's Toy Story. Bonifer was in the core of the Dotcom period as a creative executive for BoxTop Interactive, then iXL, with groundbreaking internet projects for clients like Disney, Mountain Dew, Merrill Lynch Japan, and The Smithsonian Online. Bonifer co-founded Network LIVE, a prominent producer of live music events online, and served as its Vice-President of Creative from 2002 until 2006. He was the Chief Storyteller for Kevin Wall and Al Gore's Live Earth, a global music event focusing on climate change, from 2006 to 2007. In January of 2008, GameChangers began for business.
