Michelle McMurry Biography

Michelle McMurry served as a Robert Wood Johnson Health and Society Scholar at UC Berkeley and an adjunct MacArthur Fellow in global health at the Council on Foreign Relations. Her work has focused on the intersection of biomedical research funding policies and health care disparities and global health inequities. She is also an adjunct assistant professor of Health Policy at George Washington University. Dr. McMurry formerly oversaw health and social policy issues for US Senator Joseph Lieberman and was the senior health policy advisor for Senator Lieberman's 2004 presidential campaign. Prior to the campaign she was the hospital preparedness coordinator for the Department of Health and Human Services where she worked on preparing America's hospitals for public health emergencies.
