Michelle Edkins is the global head of corporate governance and a managing director at BlackRock, where she is responsible for a 20-person investment team headquartered in five important worldwide locations. Edkins is in charge of the team's engagement and proxy voting operations in firms where BlackRock invests on behalf of customers.
She is also a member of the Government Relations Steering Committee of the business. She was named to the 2012 NACD Directorship 100 Governance Professionals as an active participant in the public corporate governance discussion. Edkins was managing director of Governance for Owners before joining BlackRock in 2009.
