Between March and May 2005, he featured on the seventh season of the reality television series The Bachelor, which helped him gain further fame. He picked Sarah Brice, a labor and delivery nurse from Texas, for the show. In the summer of 2007, their romance came to an end. He played the onscreen brother of his brother's character, Detective Woody Hoyt, in the second season episode of Sunset Division of Crossing Jordan.
