At the 2003 U.S. National Championships, Michael Weiss won the gold medal. He is the first American male to land a quad toe loop in a competition, as well as the first American to land one in a short program.
He's also one of the first to win the US and World Junior Championships, as well as the US Senior Championship. Skating with him is like seeing a perfectionist at work. There is no such thing as too much practice or too little detail. He is a champion because of this.
