Michael Roof lived in Guam Texas and Japan before returning to Floridafor his senior year of high school. As one of five kids he was always vying for attention and found that being funny wasthe best way to get it. After high school he played college football at the University of West Alabama but soon decided the sport wasn t for himwhen he broke both his arms during the first three weeks of school. Since he could no longer play sports Roof hit the stagein Tuscaloosa and was beamed in the head with an ashtray his first time performing comedy in front of an audience. Dropping out of college after six months he moved to Atlanta and started doing stand-up but not without first paying hisdues. For six months he slept on the floor of the comedy club where he worked as both a fry cook and doorman. He received nowages but got something more important
