Michael Owen is a former English football striker who represented Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United, Stoke City, and the England national team. He is a regular pundit on BT Sport's football coverage and occasionally appears as a pundit on BBC's Match of the Day. He's become a wealthy racehorse breeder and owner since quitting football.
Owen was born in Chester and began his professional career with Liverpool in 1996. He is the son of former footballer Terry Owen. He came through Liverpool's development system, scoring on his debut in May 1997. With 18 goals in his first full season in the Premier League, he was an equal top scorer.
