Dr. Michael L. Lomax has been the president and CEO of UNCF since 2004, the nation's largest private provider of scholarships and other educational support to African American students, and a leading advocate for college readiness, preparing students for college success from pre-school to high school.
UNCF has raised $2.3 billion during his tenure and assisted over 92,000 students in obtaining college degrees and launching professions. UNCF's efforts annually enable 60,000 students to attend one of UNCF's 37 historically black schools and institutions using UNCF scholarships (HBCUs). Lomax has fought to ensure that African Americans and other people of color have access to education.
