United Physicians, Inc., Michigan's biggest independent medical group, is led by Dr. Williams. Dr. Williams has been with United Physicians for the past four years in this position. Dr. Williams also served on the United Physicians Board of Directors for five years prior to his appointment as President and CEO. He's also the Chairman of United Physicians' Physician Advocacy Cabinet (PAC), a grass-roots initiative to encourage doctor-to-doctor collaboration, cooperation, and quality improvement. Dr. Williams has also played a key role in the United Physicians network's development, acceptance, and use of health information technology. Dr. Williams is a practicing Internal Medicine and Pediatrics physician at LifeTime Medical Associates, a division of Prism Medical Group, in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and a member of the Michigan Primary Care Consortium's Board of Directors and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's Organized Systems Care Steering Committee, in addition to his responsibilities with United Physicians. Dr. Williams graduated from Albion College with a bachelor's degree in 1987 and Wayne State University with a medical degree in 1991. In 1995, he graduated from The Ohio State University Medical Center and Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, with a residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. The American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics have both certified Dr. Williams. Dr. Williams has a private medical practice in addition to his public one.
