Michael Ignatieff Biography

Michael Ignatieff, a well-known Canadian novelist, and scholar was elected as the Member of Parliament for Etobicoke Lakeshore for the first time in 2006. Michael is presently the Liberal Opposition's Deputy Leader. Michael built a worldwide name as a journalist, author, and professor in the fields of human rights and international affairs before joining politics. He was the previous head of Harvard University's Carr Center for Human Rights and Policy, as well as the Chancellor Jackman Visiting Professor in Human Rights Policy and Senior Fellow of the Munk Centre for International Studies. He is the distinguished author of a celebrated biography of British scholar Sir Isaiah Berlin and award-winning books such as Blood and Belonging and The Rights Revolution, as well as one of the most prominent voices in the worldwide debate on human rights.
