Michael Feker Biography

Michael Feker is a well-renowned chef who shares his passion and joy of healthy eating and cooking through his roles as a gourmet expert, restaurateur, TV character, culinary teacher, chief and advisor, food provider, and cooking exhibitionist. Feker has 27 years of experience in the restaurant industry. His love for the food industry sparked at a very young age. Even though he was born in Persia, he had the opportunity to experience food around the globe, which started in Switzerland where he attended primary school. Eventually Michael moved to the U.S. to attend San Francisco's California Culinary Academy (CCA) where he was trained to cook in a classical and French style by one of the most admired chefs in the U.S., Roberto Gerometta. That was just the beginning to Michael’s journey. Gerometta choose Michael to represent the CAA on the Royal Viking Cruise for four months. That experience allowed him to ace his creativity. Upon his return, Michael was offered positions at some of the top Italian restaurants in California including Harry's Bar and Grill for San Francisco, and Chianti Cucina, Locanda Veneta, and Sostanza in Los Angeles. He became Executive Chef at Sostanza and furthermore worked briefly as a corporate cook at the Nestle Corporation with Gerometta. In 1990 Michael opened his own eatery in Studio City, which was his change to showcase is unique style and flavor. His eatery, IL MITO, was a short-term accomplishment on Ventura Boulevard, close to Hollywood film studios. It was so well known to many Hollywood stars and studio workers. In the wake of meeting and wedding his wife, he brought his IL MITO brand to Milwaukee. At that point in 2006, he opened his Wauwatosa area, which presently has endless fans, nicknamed "the Fekeroodies." In 2008, he extended that area to incorporate CMF's School of Culinary Magic/Chef's Counter, where he has private cooking exercises, gourmet wine and beer tastings, private cooking exhibitions, and corporate functions. Michael currently resides in Mikwaukee with his family.
