Michael Drexler is a Senior Director of the World Economic Forum in New York, where he is in charge of the organization's institutional and private investor communities. He came to the Forum after nine years as Managing Director and Global Head of Strategy, Commercial/Investment Banking, and Wealth Management at Barclays.
He also worked at Barclays in the areas of Principal Investments and Finance, as well as Chief of Staff to the Chairman. In 2002, he left McKinsey & Company to join Barclays Capital. Drexler had previously worked as an academic researcher at Stanford University. He has an MSc in Electronic Engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a Ph.D.
