Michael Bell is a well-known American artist who is most known for his gangster series paintings and his famed portrait painting clients, which includes John Gotti, Dominic Capone, and a slew of stars from shows like "The Sopranos," "Goodfellas," "A Bronx Tale," and others. He's also a parent, a boxer, an anti-bullying crusader, and an Autism activist. Bell has also succeeded in the sphere of education, where he was a key figure in the development of the global “Visual Journaling” movement. Bell is a National Board Certified Teacher and a three-time national award-winning public school "Teacher of the Year" who has received accolades such as the Los Angeles Good Shepherd Shelter Community Service Award, the College Board's William U. Harris Award of Excellence, the NAEA's National Art Honor Society Sponsor of the Year, the Washington Post's Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award, and the Dr. Jame Robinson Outstanding Teacher Award. Bell is also a 3-time Scholastic Art National Medalist Educator (2014–2016) and a 7-time NAEA Rising Star Award-Winning Art Educator (2010–2016). Bell holds a BFA from Lycoming College and a Master of Education in Art Education from Towson University.
