She is most remembered for her role as Sloane Peterson, Ferris Bueller's girlfriend, in the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. She also played Princess Lily in the miniseries Queenie, Legend, as well as supporting roles in the Jean-Claude Van Damme film Timecop and Michael Caine's 1995 Canada-Russia co-production Bullet to Beijing. She played Dr.
Harleen Quinzel in the short-lived WB Network television program Birds of Prey. Sara earned the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films' Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Timecop.
