Meng Fengchao is the chairman of CRCC, China's largest foreign contractor, and he wants the firm to be the most competitive major construction group in the world. It is presently working on Algeria's $3.7 billion East-West motorway, which is one of the region's major road projects.
Fengchao was named chairman in May 2010 after working at China Communications Construction Group as a director, general manager, and vice-chairman. Fengchao began his career at the Chinese Railways Ministry, which he joined in 1982 and worked for until 1998 when he was promoted to general assistant manager of the China Railway Construction Development Centre.
