Melissa joined the firm as President and Chief Operating Officer before being elected Chief Executive Officer in July 2016. With 5,000 employees, the firm has an industry-leading average turnover rate of about 10%. (the industry average approaches 100 percent annually). For these and other reasons, FORTUNE magazine has selected The Container Store to its annual list of 100 Best Companies to Work For for the last 17 years. She is a member of the American Marketing Association's Dallas branch, the International Women's Foundation, and C200.
