Melanie Richards Griffith is an actress who has been on stage and in television shows, as well as a film producer. She began her acting career in the 1970s, starring in a number of small thrillers before breaking into the mainstream in the mid-1980s.
Melanie began her career opposite Gene Hackman in Arthur Penn's film noir Night Moves after graduating from the Hollywood Professional School at the age of sixteen. She became well-known after starring as a pornographic actor in Brian De Palma's thriller Body Double (1984), for which she won a National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress.
