Megan McArthur is an astronaut for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), an oceanographer, and an engineer. For the space shuttle and space station, she worked as a capsule communicator (CAPCOM). McArthur has only flown one STS-125 space shuttle mission.
She is renowned for being the final person to use the Canadarm to interact directly with the Hubble Space Telescope. At the University of California, Los Angeles, she graduated with a B.S. in aeronautical engineering in 1993. She received her Ph.D. in oceanography from the University of California, San Diego's Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2002.
