Margaret Wheatley is the president of a global, nonprofit foundation that educates and promotes good leadership. She is an internationally recognized speaker, author, organizational consultant, and researcher. Margaret Wheatley has worked as a Peace Corps volunteer in Korea and as a public school teacher and urban education supervisor in New York since she was a child. Meg Wheatley has previously worked as an Associate Professor of Management at Brigham Young University's Marriott School of Management and Cambridge College in Massachusetts. Meg Wheatley has continuously been named one of the top thinking leaders in management and leadership by Leadership Excellence Magazine. Meg Wheatley has worked with an exceptionally wide range of organizations on all continents since 1973. From the Chief of the US Army to twelve-year-old Girl Scouts, from CEOs to small-town preachers, her clientele and audiences are diverse. Margaret Wheatley has worked as a formal adviser for leadership programs in the United Kingdom, Croatia, and Denmark. Australia and the United States, as well as leading efforts in India, Senegal, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Mexico, and Brazil, as well as Europe, through her foundation work. Finding Our Way: Leadership for an Uncertain Time is a compilation of Margaret Wheatley's practice-focused essays, in which she uses the concepts she's spoken throughout her career to describe the organizational and personal practices and behaviors that bring them to life. Meg Wheatley also contributes to professional publications and periodicals on a regular basis. Meg Wheatley gets her inspiration from a variety of sources, starting with recent scientific breakthroughs that have had a significant impact on our understanding of the world. She now brings insights and knowledge from a variety of disciplines, civilizations, and spiritual traditions to her scientific background. Meg Wheatley earned her Ph.D. in Administration, Planning, and Social Policy from Harvard University. She graduated from New York University with a master's degree in communications and systems thinking and a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Rochester. Margaret Wheatley has also earned several honorary degrees and honors. In 2003, the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) named her a living legend for her contributions to workplace learning and development. She was inducted into the Leonardo Da Vinci Society in April 2005 for her contributions to the field of systems thinking. The University of Applied Technology in Arizona founded this society. Meg Wheatley provided the world a new way of thinking about organizations with her groundbreaking application of natural sciences to corporate management, according to ASTD, which granted her its highest prize.
