Max Weinberg is a drummer and television personality best known for his work with Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and as the bandleader for Conan O'Brien on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Weinberg was born and raised in suburban New Jersey, where he learned drumming at a young age.
He went to college intending to become a lawyer, but he got his big break in music in 1974 when he won an audition to be Springsteen's drummer. Weinberg became a fixture of Springsteen's extended concert performances after his strong but controlled playing on albums like Born to Run and Born in the U.S.A. solidified the E Street Band sound.
