Maurice Jones-Drew was selected in the second round of the 2006 National Football League draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. 32 teams passed on him during the draft because of his height (5'7) and he subsequently chose the number 32 for his jersey.
During his first year with the Jaguars he set franchise records with 166 rushing yards and 303 all purpose yards. He tied for second for the Offensive Rookie of the Year.
