Maurice Jones-Drew Biography

Maurice Jones-Drew was selected in the second round of the 2006 National Football League draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. 32 teams passed on him during the draft because of his height (5'7) and he subsequently chose the number 32 for his jersey. During his first year with the Jaguars he set franchise records with 166 rushing yards and 303 all purpose yards. He tied for second for the Offensive Rookie of the Year. In 2009 Jones-Drew went on to another record breaking season for the Jaguars when he tied with Hall of Famer Barry Sanders for rushing for two touchdowns in a single game of 75 yards or more. Despite a knee injury in 2010 Jones-Drew was named Running Back of the Year by the NFL Alumni Association. He continued to play with the Jaguars for three more seasons earning a spot on the NFL Network's top 100 player's list in 2012. Jones-Drew played his final season with the Oakland Raiders before retiring from professional football in 2015. He now serves as the color analyst for the Los Angeles Rams.
