Matt Salzberg is the co-founder and CEO of Blue Apron, a meal box service that includes ingredients and recipes, as well as the co-founder of Embark Vet, a company that offers complete genetic testing for dogs. Salzberg, Ilia Papas, and Matt Wadiak tested the initial Blue Apron recipes in their cramped New York City homes in the summer of 2012.
Their mission was to make cooking with high-quality produce and specialist ingredients available to everyone, regardless of where they lived or how busy they were. The three hand-picked the first Blue Apron boxes and personally delivered them to family and friends, receiving good comments almost immediately.
