Matthew Angelo Harrison is an artist who makes sculptures that echo minimalist furniture from the 1970s. His work also displays traditional African sculptures in smoky resin and places them atop the metal pedestals he designs. Harrison has had solo exhibitions in San Francisco Detroit and Atlanta.
His work has appeared in the New Museum in New York City the Museum of contemporary Art in Chicago the Studeio Museum in Harlem and the MSU Broad on the Michigan State campus. In 2019 he was named a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree in Art & Style.
