Matt Molina Biography

Matt Molina, a graduate of the Los Angeles Culinary Institute, began his culinary career at Campanile, where he rose through the ranks from line cook to chef de cuisine. Molina departed the West Coast after six years at Campanile under Nancy Silverton to pursue modern Italian cuisine at Del Posto. When he returned to Los Angeles, Molina was more than prepared for his executive chef position at Pizzeria Mozza and Osteria Mozza, Silverton, Mario Batali, and longstanding partner Joe Bastianich's Green Restaurant Association-certified additions to LA's Italian culinary scene. Chef Molina has gained three stars from the LA Times after taking over the restaurants and taking a highly aggressive part in their standards of sustainability, ecology, and organics. The James Beard Foundation nominated Osteria Mozza for "Best New Restaurant" in 2008, and Molina was nominated for "Best Chef: Pacific" in 2012.
