Mary Stockwell is a historian, author, and former history professor and department chair at Lourdes University. She is the author of several history books for children, including The Ohio Adventure, A Journey through Maine, and Massachusetts, Our Home, which won the Golden Lamp Award for Best Book from the Association of Educational Publishers in 2005.
She is also the author of The Other Trail of Tears: The Removal of the Ohio Indians, which was a 2016 finalist for the Ohio Library Association's Best Book Award; Woodrow Wilson: The Last Romantic, which was a 2018 Dartmouth Medal nominee; and The American Story: Perspectives and Encounters to 1865, which was a 2018 Dartmouth Medal nominee.
