Martha Williamson began writing for television in 1984 working on musical variety programs for Carol Burnett Walt Disney Television and others. She then spent six years in situation comedy as a writer and producer on such series as The Facts of Life and The Family Man before making the transition to one-hour drama in 1992.
Williamson also created and executive produced Promised Land which had a successful three year run also on CBS. Touched By An Angel was nominated for nine Emmy Awards and was inducted into the Museum of Television and Radio Hall of Fame.
