Marsha C. Lovett is a senior associate director at Carnegie Mellon University's Eberly Center for Teaching Excellence and an associate teaching professor in the Department of Psychology. She uses cognitive psychology theory and empirical research to assist teachers to improve their teaching at the Eberly Center. Dr.
Lovett has studied how students learn in a number of disciplines using a variety of techniques in her own research. She is the co-editor of the book Thinking with Data and co-author of the book How Learning Works: Seven Research-Based Principles for Smart Teaching. She has published over fifty research publications on learning and teaching.
