Mark Susor Biography

Mark is the US Vice President of Engineering, and he is in charge of creating and implementing domestic Industrial Engineering (IE) initiatives. Mark worked in the Central Ohio District for a number of years until being elevated to District Industrial Engineering Director in 1991. He worked in West Canada, Alabama, North Illinois, and at the UPS Chicago Area Consolidated Hub (CACH), the world's biggest ground package operation. Mark was assigned to the Corporate Automated Sort Team in 1989, where he assisted in the development of automated sortation in UPS hub facilities. Mark also assisted in the creation of UPS's use of the Balanced Scorecard measuring technique, and while in Canada, he managed a project team that consolidated UPS Canada's Phone Centers and International & Brokerage offices. Mark moved to the UPS Corporate Office in 1995 to work with the UPS Internal Consulting Group. He was elevated to region I.E. manager in 2003 and then to Package Project Management portfolio manager in 2005, where he was in charge of building transportation systems. In 2005, Mark became the Southeast Region director of operations, and in 2007, he returned to the Corporate I.E. team. Prior to being promoted to his present position in 2008, Mark was able to get an in-depth understanding of UPS operations and structure as a result of all of these jobs. Mark's areas of experience include UPS's product portfolios, customer-facing technological solutions, and business unit operations. He has worked with logistics and supply chains in a variety of companies and sectors, developing solutions that have an influence on the whole supply chain and allow for better management of existing resources and future requirements planning. Mark has worked with a variety of customers that have sought innovative and one-of-a-kind logistical solutions. His responsibilities include accelerating growth via people development, service dependability, profitability, and asset management, all while improving operational efficiency.
