Mark Sanchez is a former quarterback for the New York Jets. He attended the University of Southern California (USC) and was chosen in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the New York Jets.
Sanchez rose to popularity in 2007 as a backup quarterback at USC owing to injuries to starter quarterback John David Booty; he also became famous within the community due to his Mexican-American ancestry. In 2008, he has appointed the starter and led USC to a 12–1 record and the Rose Bowl victory against Penn State.
