Mark Ryland Biography

Mark Ryland has worked in a number of sectors, including law and public policy, software and network design, as well as science and philosophy. He earned a B.A. in philosophy from the University of San Diego in 1983 and a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law in 1986. He worked for Microsoft Corporation from 1991 to 2000 after working as an attorney for a private law company in Washington, D.C. He presently works at Mpower Media, a family-friendly entertainment firm, as the chief technology officer. He was a founding member and head of several national think tanks focusing on philosophy and public policy. Mr. Ryland is on the boards of directors of FOCUS, Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, California, and the International Theological Institute in Austria. He serves on the boards of advisors for numerous other institutions, including the Catholic University of America's School of Philosophy and Thomas Worldwide, a new international fellowship of academics working in St. Thomas Aquinas' legacy. Mark lives in Great Falls, Virginia, with his wife Katy and their children.
