Mark Ruiz is a Puerto Rican Olympic diver. Ruiz competed for the United States in both the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. Ruiz began diving when he was nine years old. At the age of 12, he came to the United States on the advice of a coach in order to benefit from the superior training system.
He became the first diver since Greg Louganis in 1988 to sweep all three events at the spring championships in 1999 (10-meter platform, 3-meter springboard, and the non-Olympic event of 1-meter springboard).
