Mark Orlowski is a Marketplace.org and Marketplace Morning Report contributor. Since 2005, his daily work as the founder and executive director of the nonprofit Sustainable Endowments Institute has taken him to 35 different states throughout the United States. Since the late 1990s, he has obsessively accumulated and redeemed frequent flyer miles and hotel points.
Mark received his private pilot's certificate in 2002 and is frustrated that he cannot earn miles while flying. The Sustainable Endowments Institute (SEI) has pioneered climate-resilient institutional solutions via research, teaching, and outreach. Mark is in charge of the Institute's research on college sustainability programs, which includes the development of the College Sustainability Report Card.
