Mark Montgomery is an American college basketball coach who is now the head men's basketball coach at Northern Illinois University. He was born on April 1, 1970. On March 24, 2011, Montgomery took over as head coach of the Huskies, replacing Ricardo Patton. Montgomery spent the previous nine seasons at Michigan State as an assistant under head coach Tom Izzo.
Montgomery coached the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament in each of his nine seasons, including three Final Four visits and a trip to the championship game in 2009.
