In 1961, Mark Bradford was born in Los Angeles, California. He graduated from the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia with a BFA in 1995 and an MFA in 1997.
Bradford uses scavenged materials to create wall-sized collages and installations that respond to the spontaneous networks that arise inside a city, such as underground businesses, migrant communities, or popular appropriation of abandoned public space.
