Maria Belon is a survivor of more than simply the tsunami. She is a survivor of a horrible catastrophe who has lived to tell the tale. Juan Antonio Bayonas' The Impossible, an emotive and gripping tale of the 2004 tsunami, is based on her experience. It stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor as a couple who are separated when a lethal tsunami hits their tropical resort and sweeps them away.
