From 2011 to 2014, she was the Danish government's minister for economic affairs and the interior, and from 1998 to 2001, she was the minister for education. During Denmark's EU presidency in 2012, she was also president of the Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN) Council. From 2007 to 2014, Ms. Vestager was the head of the Danish Social Liberal Party, and from 1993 to 1995, she worked for the Danish Ministry of Finance. Ms. Vestager graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a master's degree in economics.
