Marc Broussard Biography

Marc Broussard is a singer/songwriter from the United States. His sound has been dubbed "Bayou Soul," a blend of funk, blues, R&B, rock, and pop with strong Southern roots. Broussard is the son of Ted Broussard, a former member of The Boogie Kings and a member of the Louisiana Hall of Fame Guitarists. Broussard was a member of the Christian band Y in 2001. New Iberia, Louisiana was the site of the short-lived project. Broussard's solo career began with the publication of numerous indie albums, notably "Momentary Setback," released in 2002 and included the song "The Wanderer." A reworked version of the song may be found on his first big album, Island Records' "Carencro," published in 2004. The title of the album is a nod to the musician's hometown of Carencro, Louisiana, where he currently lives. On the Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart, the singles "Where You Are" and "Home" achieved Top 40 successes. He published "S.O.S.: Save Our Soul" in 2007, which was nearly completely made up of cover songs. The album was his first to enter the Billboard 200 Albums chart's Top 100, debuting at #96 and peaking at #96. The album also charted at #9 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart. In January 2008, Broussard concluded recording the “Must Be The Water” EP. Broussard's debut release with Atlantic Records, the company with which he inked a multi-album deal in 2007. In 2008, he published his third full-length studio album, "Keep Coming Back," which included the song "Hard Knocks," which was used in the last episode of HBO's "Hard Knocks" season with the Cincinnati Bengals. "Marc Broussard," Broussard's CD, was released in 2011. The singles "Lucky" and "Only Everything" were included.
