Malena Ernman (born November 4, 1970, in Uppsala, Sweden) is a Swedish mezzo-soprano opera singer who made her debut in 1998. With the song "La voix," she represented Sweden at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She received her education at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, the Music Conservatory in Orléans, France, and the Royal Swedish Opera School.
Ernman is a diverse artist in her area, having performed chansons, cabaret, jazz, and starred in musicals in addition to opera and operettas. She has stated that she is drawn to the qualities of varité theatre and small, intimate stage spaces.
